Raju Eknath Gaikwad (born 25 September 1990) is an Indian football player. He currently playes for Kingfisher East Bengal F.C. in the I-League which is India's top-tier football league as a Defender. He has the ability like Rory Delap to throw the ball in rocket style from throw-in position.

Career

Indian Arrows

Gaikwad was the starting defender and captain of Indian Arrows who competed in the I-League.[1] At the end of the season, Gaikwad captained Indian Arrows to a 10th place finish in the I-League.[2]

East Bengal

In July 2011, Gaikwad moved back to his original club Kingfisher East Bengal F.C. of the I-League.[3]

International

Gaikwad made his India U-23 debut and captaining debut against Myanmar in the 2012 Olympics qualifiers.

Gaikwad then made his India debut against Chinese Taipei on 21 March 2011,[4] with India winning the match 3-0.
